Cultural managers of the world unite in Pilsen
The Oracle network of cultural managers from EU and EU partner countries will be meeting in Pilsen as part of the European Capital of Culture programme. Joined by cultural operators from the Czech Republic and members of the Nataša – Eastern Partnership Civil Society Platform for Culture, the theme of the meeting will be ‘Building Trust in Turbulent times’.
Founded in Athens in September 1992, Oracle is a dynamic community of people who are committed to fostering intercultural co-operation through the development of transnational projects within Europe, Africa and European partner countries.
Taking place at DEPO2015 23-26 April 2015, in partnership with ECoC and Central European Culture Education Institute, the Oracle meeting offers a unique opportunity for cultural staff from the Czech Republic to network and make plans with delegates from 11 other countries including Morocco, the Netherlands, Finland, UK, Macedonia, Serbia, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Poland and Ukraine.
As well as talks and seminars, the programme will include presentations from network members, from Pilsen 2015 Director Jiří Sulženko and from staff from Plzeň Zastávka and DEPO. There will also be group visits to concerts, Peklo Cultural Centre, Papírna cultural space and exhibition in Domus, and ‘behind the scenes’ tours of the Pilsner Urquell and Purkmistr breweries.
Says Jindřich Krippner, Oracle Network President, “We are delighted to be holding the 2015 Oracle meeting in Pilsen as part of the European Capital of Culture. Many thanks to all our partners and supporters who have helped to make this happen. I look forward to participating in the lively debates, discussions and plans which are part of the DNA of Oracle. We have negotiated preferential booking rates for local cultural workers so please come along and join us – we offer a very warm welcome and would love to see you there.”
